For some positive, non-evil mustelids in print try: _Wainscott Weasel_ by Tor Seidler. Features numerous illustrations and a heroic weasel main character. _Waifs and Strays_ by Charles De Lint, the short story "Stick". It has a fiesty, dancing ferret as the title character's side-kick. This short story has been in some other collections as well. Of course Native American myths and tales are often peopled by animal characters. A browse through those sources will get you a number of weasel and mink stories. I love the artwork for _Crow and Weasel_ by Barry Lopez. I read this book more than 20 years ago but if I recall rightly, the weasel character is heroic and a great warrior against the evil forces (A Wyrm, a Baskilisk, and legions of serpents) in _The Book of the Dun Cow_ by Walter Wangerin.
