Elesha, When I hear about things like this, I just can't comprehend the utter lack of compassion in some people, ESPECIALLY if they're in the business of caring for animals. People who are guilty of such things should be repaid in kind. If they are this unfeeling, I think it's the only form of justice they could understand. (If it were me, I would go back into the groomer's shop with a brick in hand and bash the groomer in the jaw so he/she gets the message that this was a painful and cruel thing to do. But then you would probably end up in jail, so that wouldn't be good.) I'm a pet sitter and I do end up in trying situations sometimes, but I just couldn't take it out on the animals - it's never their fault. Two of my clients are Shih-Tzus, and they are both such happy and lovable little dogs - I can't imagine getting angry with them, let alone wanting to hurt them! I hope Gabby will make a full recovery. Perhaps your vet, being right next door, might be of some help? Maybe there are other horror stories the vet has heard of with this groomer and you could band together with other victims to sue for pain and suffering and vet bills, and put the creep out of business by exposing him/her to the community. Good luck! Nancy and critters [Posted in FML issue 4433]
