Is this a common thing in ferrets? Has anyone had any experience with it? We have taken on a rescue, who was dumped at a pet store 4 months ago. She had been living in a cat carrier in the family's car--the family was living there too--being fed nothing but cereal for who knows how long. No one expressed any interest in her, so we were able to get her for free. She seems to have the beginnings of adrenal--bald tail and some hair missing on her butt. She is deaf, and we believe possibly completely blind. She is going to the vet soon, but in the meantime I was hoping to find some resources to look to to learn about blindness and the best way to handle her. We have 3 other deaf ones, so I knew to approach her from the front. Realizing she jumps even when we do that makes us think that she is at least partially blind. ~Becky and Heather and the Excellent Eight (formerly the Magnificent Seven): Abby, Annie, Andre, Farty, Bob, Sleepy, Peanut and introducing...Egan ("little fire") [Posted in FML issue 4385]
