Thanks for all of the good you have done having a shelter. I don't know how anyone can keep up with all that it requires and I sure do appreciate that there are folks who do it all, anyway, as well as understand how it can just at times become too much. You did fine work which made a great positive difference in the world and you have more right than most people do to now have a bit of healing time for yourselves. You have done marvelous work and we all owe thanks when that happens, so thank you. Here's an update from our home. Mornie is melding in wonderfully and all of the ferrets are pretty well happy. Sherman is being watched. His right adrenal maybe just starting to kick up. Given his IBD meds it is hard to know if that is going on, and he's gained so much weight from the steroids that we have to force him to lose weight before he is a decent surgical candidate, anyway. I found that using deterrent scents on my shoes and pants does not keep the ferrets from getting underfoot when I am in braces and shoes, but they are realizing that I have pain there and that I am not as stable on my feet as anyone would like and are adjusting their behavior. They haven't even chomped on a cane on my worst days. Mornie caught on right away; she's never known me any different from this, but the others now and then forget and act like before. BTW, I have a wheeled gardening cart on order to scoot sideways around on doing some cleaning chores and even though it is backordered I have already named it Zoidberg because of the motion, so if anyone knows who to make his excitement whoop-trill or has a link to the noise, please, let me know, because I WANT to make that sound sometimes when I am on it scuttling around. (For the uninitiated: it's from Futurama but I can't find the sound at the Futurama sites I've located so far.) [Posted in FML issue 4402]
