I'm wondering, because this is the 3rd ferret that I've had die from the same symptoms: rapid onset, severe weight loss and dehydration leading to circulartory collapse? All the ferrets were fine and within 48 to 72 hours they are rail thin, weak and on death's doorstep, despite being monitored closely. Necropsy by my vet of the ferrets show no sign of anything out of the ordinary and organs show no sign of ADV. All ferrets have tested negative for ADV and I do test them once a year. Any ideas on what is happening? I'm stumped, and so is my vet, since the ferrets were 6, 5 and 3 when this happened, and they did not die close together either, Fudge, 6 died a year and a half ago, Rascal, 5 in May and Dickens, 3, just after midnight on the 1st of December. All ferrets were healthy and had no other underlying illness, with the exception of Rascal who was adrenal. Nadine [Posted in FML issue 4349]
