I believe that the safest way to give the rabies and distemper vacinnes is one at a time (a week or so apart) each pretreated with benadryl and the shot given in the neck area. There are more reactions to distemper, but it's best to wait at the vets for at least 30min to be sure there is no reaction for either. The newer distemper vaccine, Merial by Rekumbitek (spelling?!) is the safest. This is info I've gotten over time from vets, if anyone knows better please post! Dooks Risa PS I have also heard that reactions get stronger over time, if I had a ferret react I don't think I would vacinate them again. I would just be extra careful in who and what they get exposed to. [Posted in FML issue 4319]
