I understand some of you may be upset at me for my choice, and some people very disappointed... and I also understand some of you will be very happy. I questioned to myself whether I should tell now, or just wait, and I decided it would be better if I just told the truth right away. Please remember, I am trying to do the best thing for me. I will have everything straightened out and in order before I leave, and I will have permanent homes for my ferrets by my shipping date, with the approval of some people. Today, I swore an oath to the United States Navy. I am now currently in the Delayed Entry Program, and I am scheduled to ship out to Great Lakes for basic on August 10, 2004. I am very excited, as I thought I was permanently disqualified, due to my middle ear surgery that was performed last October. I had a waiver sent out for the navy, and it came back denied, "because of my hearing" Well my hearing is perfectly fine, and upon reviewing my physical, they neglected to change my hearing test numbers from before the surgery. I had told myself that I would rather have this "mistake" straightened out than wondering "what if?" So last week, I talked to the recruiter again, and I went up to the MEPS and had them correct the "mistake" They sent another waiver out and it came back approved. So today I enlisted in the NAVY. My enlisted job will be Avation Technician, with my schooling being in Pensacola, FL. -Valerie ===== ~*~*~ VALERIE ~*~*~ ,',', __ \ `'`,/ \ ()o=; `'`','`/ . \/ / ( / \" / \(_ \(_ ~*`~*`FERRETS RULE~`*~`* Missing Noodles at the Rainbow Bridge [Posted in FML issue 4318]
