Hi all!!! It is the handsomest ferret face around -- Your good ol' buddy Jerimiah FerretWise here! Wow have we been busy at the shgelter-- first of all 4 of the youngsters left for a new home to be Maniacs! The reports are that they are doing their very best to keep the humans on their toes- Marshall has a love for remote controls and is causing some havoc there-- :) Sox, the fine lady she is - enjoys her afternoon tea via the teabag and has earned the reputation of being a resident tea bag thief. Both Tanner & Neko are spending time hopping in and out of boxes and the like in their new home - they took all my fine teaching ability to heart! Great kids. Here at the shelter - Mom is doing her best to help Hospice Mom Judy & the kids and us here too.. Disney has had to start on pred for her insulinoma and she cannot tolerate the young boys still here -- so, she now runs exclusively with Biscuit & Gravy the mellower kids .. it must be tough to be a grandma ferret! Geesh! The window curtains have been changed to the wind block fleece to keep the drafties off of us in winter. We had a few cold nights but the past 2 have been splendid. We are getting ready for the cold of winter and eating the folks here out of house & home,. however there is always roo for more treats - hint hint! We had a great family visit us in the shelter over the weekend. A lady & her family from Japan, Keiko, came to see the place and ask Mom lots of questions about the work here. That was very interesting she writes for a pet magazine in Japan where they have ferrets too. Disney got to meet some of her children and they took pictures of all of us too! I hope I get to be one famous ferret! I wonder how they spell Jerimiah in Japanese! The folks have started cleaning out the annex and setting things up for the Holiday open house - they have to start earlier every year. Before that happens though, the next shelter newsletter has to be finished -- so if you wanted to write to me you had better hurry and do that now! Our friend Sandra F. is travelling up from PA next week to pick up goodies that will be sold at the Ferret Wise booth at the Dec 6th AFA show in York, PA . I like Sandra - she always brings us stuff like cheerios etc. When she comes in December she is gonna visit for a few days and play with us ! Yippeee! Mom has not been spending any time in the next door room since the music died last week- she hopes she can find some music player real soon so she can spend time drawing pretty pictures. We like it when she is next door- we get to listen to her music and sometimes we get to explore that room too! Tomorrow Mom is taking harry to teach folks all about ferrets at the Greater Derry Humane meeting - That lucky guy! She is going to show a shelter slide show and have folks meet & hold Harry during a Q&A. I think that sounds like fun! Maybe next time I can go too! There are some really neat items up on ebay to help us stay warm this winter... in the group Mom has put together some inexpensive gift sets for holiday shopping and has even listed mystery sleepers and such... a great way to support us here at the shelter and give special ferrets some really neat stuff!
