I've decided I want to change my mind about how serious I am regarding Omaha. I've decided that Omaha would really be a GREAT place for the symposium. In addition to the great hotels, etc., it also has an internationally renowned zoo and art museum, a fabulous "Old Market" district, a couple of excellent concert venues that are always showing class A shows, a great local music scene, and it is about as centrally located as you can get in the US. I checked on airfare, and from almost anywhere on the east coast, it is between $300 and $400 for round trip into Omaha, and most places on the west coast are under $300. The dates I used where at Christmas, so they should go down from there. Plus, for a lot of people, it would be even more cost effective to just drive. As I said, Indianapolis is a day drive. So is as far as Sheridan, WY, Minneapolis, MN, and you can get to northern Texas from here, too. So, even though we're just a bunch of corn farmers and cows, I say, visit Nebraska. It is, after all, The Good Life!! Melissa Rotert [Posted in FML issue 4306]
