This message is in response to the young man in Arizona keeping his
ferrets outside.
 
I live in Tucson, and would never dream of letting any of my 13 ferrets
outside, even for a brief period.  Yes, it's a dry heat, most of the
time, but it will definitely still be too hot for your babies in the
day during the summer, and too cold at night during the winter.
 
You did not mention how you have them housed.  Are they completely
protected from predators?  I routinely have hawks hunting doves and
rabbits in my backyard, not to mention coyotes, javelinas, bobcats,
and various species of snakes that periodically visit.
 
Please consider these factors and think of what is best for your ferrets.
