After reading Cynthia Obrist's post on the FML today about ferret tube
accidents, I decided to add my experience to her information for the
readers.

Many months ago, I purchased a plastic, expanding, opaque, 16 foot tube
for my furkids, which was held together with couplings at each 8 foot
section. My ferrets are slender so getting stuck inside was not an
issue. However when I checked their toys for damage the other day, I
found the tube sections had been separated and the plastic had been
ripped, chewed on and damaged on one loose section. These tubes are
manufactured and supposedly safe for ferrets and other small animals.

I dosed all three of my babies generously with hairball remedy and have
been watching them closely for blockages. So far all is well, so it
looks like we're out of the woods. I'm so happy Cynthia was successful
in freeing her furkids and no damage was done.

Cordially, Greta Hoisington
