Hi. I want to thank everyone for their suggestions on the ferret smell. They were very helpful. Also I owe some one on this list a very big apology. I did what you suggested and re- read the posts and you are right I did over react. I acted like a brat and I am very sorry. I think since you cant see the other persons expression or hear the tone of voice it is easy to take things the wrong way because that is exactly what I did but still that is no excuse.Shame on me! You were just trying to help and I was not making it easy. Anyway, Im going to take a little time off of the computer .So, I will probably unsubscribe for awhile. I have learned a very big lesson though think before you speak- or write in this case. Im still trying the baby food and they are starting to like it better. They seem to like the beef flavor really well.Next Im going to try turkey. They like the baby chicken sticks.I already boiled the gizzards/hearts before I saw the email/post about just feeding it raw so I just feed them to my dogs instead.Im a little scared to feed raw anyway because I researched raw for my dogs and cats last year and I wasnt comfortable with some of the things I heard. So, I decided to keep my dogs and cats on kibble supplemented with home cooked meals.I feed the ferrets some boiled chicken yesterday and they liked it. I have two picky eaters though that will not take any treats but rasins and pounce cat treats or the eight in one vegetable fruit treats that came with them but after I read about blockages caused by them I threw them away. I slowed down on rasins alot they get once everyonce in awhile because I saw that too many is not good.I feed them Maxxium nutrition Chicken and Rice, Science Diet and Mazuri ferret food.Im going to switch hairball laxative from salmon flavor to original and I went through and scrubbed the cage, shampooed the carpet and cleaned the bedding, emptied litter pans and washed them out with a ferret cage deoderizer.I decided not to put any thing on the ferrets.I was using wood stove pellets but they are a season item where I live so I have to switch to something else.Im thinking about trying rabbit food pellets.I tried kitty litter for one day but my youngest snorkeled through the litter so I took it out. They get free roam during the day and sleep in their cage at night or when Im not at home.
