To bring readers up to date- the study committee convened Friday and after all points were brought forward the following laws was accomplished in the state of Maine: A person, firm, corporation or other business entity may not ship or bring into the State or offer for sale or resale in the State any ferret that is less than 8 weeks of age AS DETERMINED BY THE ERUPTION OF ADULT CANINE DENTITION. Kudos to Dr. Sandra Kudrak who spent many hours away from her practice and was the driving force of this bill. Many ferrets will be healthier and many consumers will be happier with the increased age of sale in Maine! Alicia D. [Posted in FML issue 4102]
