Thank you, jaclyn v, for your explanation about the scents that the
manufacturers think we need. A few years ago I had a sample of Gain
detergent, nice piney scent. OK, it helped all the laundry smell good,
although I had been using Purex Free for most of the personal and ferret
laundry. About a year ago they changed that to a couple of new scents
and piney is no longer available, just Fresh Breeze and Tropical
whatever. Tried them, and they both made me sneeze and the ferrets, so
I gave them away. I'm back to the Purex Free which really works just as
well.

I wrote that my house is pretty good smelling in spite of the number of
ferrets because of daily cleaning, good food (no fish) and wood pellets.
I do not use any fragance candles or warmer scents. They just cover it
up. The cat stinks worse when she uses the litter pan than any ferret
should.

As a little gift to anyone interested I will be posting directions on how
to make your very own wood pellet sifter to remove the resulting sawdust.
I have to work on it but should be ready in a few days. One is made with
just a few tools, and saves a lot of perfectly good pellets from going in
the trash.

Happy scooping.
