hello all. I just got back from the vet with my three new fuzzies. The good news is they are all in reasonably good health. The bad news is Loki has ECE....green slimey poopies! I was really worried about her after I got her home saturday night because she did have some runny stools, but they were normal color. Well, I told the vet about the loose stools and while we were there she had some foul smelling gas and the first green stool I had seen. I knew she was was feeling well. So the whole gang is on antibiotics for 4 weeks! Vet said treat them all as they are bound to pass it around. He said don't make any changes unless she starts refusing her kibble. and to give her kaopectate 3-4 times a day to help her tummy. He reminded me that no ferret household should go without kaeopectate. He also recommend me adding some live cultures to her food to help her gut recover. So I made a trip to wal-mart picked up chicken baby food, pedialyte, kaopectate, A & D ointment, baby wipes and paper towels. We are in for a long haul..but I know they will make it! I'm glad I caught it right away. Loki seems to be eating and drinking well...and showing destress only when she wakes up and needs to go potty. She has bee really good about going down to use the potty though and has not had any accidents since I've had her. no I am wondering can you buy carafate over the counter? If so any ideas of brand names I could look for? Wll, I'm off to tend to my sick babies and clean litter boxes. Antoinette [Posted in FML issue 4055]
