There is a Bill before the Maine State Legislature, regarding Ferrets. The proposed Bill, would regulate the age of which ferrets could be imported into the state for sale. Although I have not seen the actual wording of the Bill, it basically states that ferrets must be at least 8 weeks of age before they can some into the state for sale in pet stores. The Ferret Club of Maine, along with Ferret Services of Freedom NH, will be showing a presentation authored by Dr. Sandra Kudrack, DVM of Bangor. This presentation is in Power Point, and is the same one Dr. Kudrack will be presenting to the Legislature when they hold hearings on this bill later this month. All ferret owners or persons interested in the protection and safety of any animals sold in pet stores, are invited and encouraged to attend.
