Do you like to meet new ferret people? Do you like to participate in listserves and chatrooms and talk ferrets? Do you spend your spare time taking photos of your fuzzies and posting them to websites or entering them in contests? Have you found a great ferret vet? Are you looking for a great ferret vet? Are you looking for an excuse to call or visit that good-looking new vet who is SINGLE? Did you attend the International Ferret Symposium in Toronto? Las Vegas? How about the Forum at the Falls? Do you like to be the first one in your club, or on your list, or on the web to know *Hey, whazzup?* Anyone ever call you a busybody? Or, maybe you are just a very well-organized, extremely talented individual with a gift for making the difficult look easy and the next-to-impossible look natural! If so, then the International Ferret Congress would sure like to exploit your talents! We are presently seeking regional coordinators in ALL 50 STATES and the great CANADIAN provinces to help make the upcoming October weekend in Atlanta a smooth, exciting experience for all attendees. The task will entail aspects of the following, but is essentially about being the contact in your area to help get the word out to the people who need to know, and helping make any arrangements between people that may want to travel or bunk together. It is also about reaching out to those who may not be part of the ferret mainstream, but have ferrets. This position will help educate and coordinate. Here's a summary of what coordinators will help do in their region: 1. create contact list of pet related businesses 2. create email/website list (both business and individuals) 3. distribute informational emails to email list 4. distribute flyers 5. coordinate room/ride sharing 6. coordinate regional meetings All coordinators will be provided with the materials they need, will have access to support via e-mail or phone and will learn how to maintain confidentiality while bringing people together. Some will be naturals, have much experience and others will be on their first venture. Whatever your status, we invite you to express your interest if you think this is something you may enjoy. If you decide, after learning more about what this will entail, that it's not for you, that's fine. Please email me at [log in to unmask] and tell me where you are if one of the following describes your interest: a) Wow! That sounds just like what I've been looking for! b) I've never tried something like this, but it might be fun. Tell me more. c) I don't know, I might. Let me think about it. d) I'm new to ferrets. Is there anything I can do? We look forward to hearing from you. renee :) Publicity Coordinator International Ferret Congress http://www.ferretcongress.org/ [Posted in FML issue 4024]
