Should I try to keep them till after >Christmas? Hi Sally ~ What a sad story. I would at least try to keep them until after New Year's to give them a hold on eating and pooping. If you still feel they may be too fragile, can you foster them for the store, and make appts to sort of oversee who might be buying them? The worry is they have already had a sinking spell ( very old term) that also endangered their health, a second one and their little spirits may break. If Jason gets tough about it you might question who in the he-- shipped them that way. I have a houseguest at the moment who used to work for our local pet store. He said their routine was this: they'd order X number of ferrets from MF. They would be shipped from MF to a local wholesaler. Who knows in what condition the trucks were in (heated or air conditioned when necessary). Then the owner of my friend's store would drive about an hour to pick them up in person from the wholesaler. If it was an indirect shipment, the only thing I can think is the wholesaler or store owner used a local shipping agent. He also said ferrets that young should not be shipped. If you wish to pursue it you can report this abusive situation to your local Humane Society who can go out to the store and question the condition of their receipt of ferrets. 'It has always worried me how MF shipped their little fuzzies. After all some are only 6 weeks old, hardly able to survive most shipping conditions. Maybe someone should ask MF how they do this? God bless you Sally for what you are doing. Warmly ~ Mary The Conley Farm - organic herbs Online Classes ~ [log in to unmask] [Posted in FML issue 4006]
