The one website I went to that was posted.. Makes my baby look like a Black sable.. but then I went to the one that has the pictures from the American Ferret Association. and mine definitely doesn't look like that one but they are soooooooooo beautiful!! Oh my goodness. I want one!!! They are so cute looking.. And Zama needs a friend when I go back home.. *grin*.. *working on my plan to get another* Ok So this is exactly what he looks like. I have him on my lap!! :-) He's excited too cause he doesn't get to go in the basement and he doesn't really like me inspecting him. So is he just a regular Sable? Or not. Now I am confused. This is exactly what he looks like. I have him on my lap!! :-) He's excited too cause he doesn't get to go in the basement and he doesn't really like me inspecting him. 90% of his tail is black..then you can see the undercoat showing through.. his legs and feet are black no undercoat :-) - his back is black but you can see the white undercoat poking through - cause well.. he just has a bad hair day everyday :-). then going up his head there is a bit of black cause all you can see is his undercoat cause it's really thick on his neck and top of his head but normally its just black. he's got the don king thing going on with his hair *LOL* When you run your hand the opposite way up his back its like shocking white.and its soo soft .. his mask is black but its not really really dark black. its like. dirty looking black.. I can't explain it.. In his baby pictures he was brown but starting this summer he got really really dark. Now you can't see any brown on him at all. He's probably just a mixture :-) oOOOooOOOOoo - He is so darn cute!! And he smells good cause I found him in the laundry garbage can sleeping in the dryer sheets again. hmmmmmmmmmmmmm I think he's the only ferret that actually likes the ferret deodorants :-) He rolls on his belly so I can spray it on him. He knows he gets lots of loving when he smells purty I guess *L* So one of the shelter ferrets Zena to be exact :-) She is the blaze here.. She has this obsession with slippers. Not those cute fluffy fleecy slippers. Nope the boring old people hard soled slippers. She drags them all over the house - mostly under the couch. Well today when I was doing a ferret count and looking around for them. I found a slipper in the cat cave *LOL* I was laughing so hard. and there she was. Sleeping in the cat cave, in the slipper..feet sticking out.. head sticking out - not looking at all comfortable - well each to their own I guess! I think my father has some sort of magnetism to him in attracting lost dogs in the woods. The other day he came out from hunting and found a beagle (older one) lying under his bike. So he brings it home. The thing was sweet as pie - he smelled like fire wood so we know he came from somewhere - and he was wearing a collar with a phone number and the person's last name. The problem was the phone number was not local and no one was home. So.. I did a reverse directory on the number - turns out the guy lives 8 hours away. So I call around to all the lodges I know the name of. no one came in with a beagle. Then I get this great idea. Do a search on the guy's last name in the same area!! Well there were two ppl with the same last name living right next door to him! So I called the one number. no answer. I called the second number. WOOHOO! Got the guys sister.. Oh no.. They are leaving in two days and she doesn't know how to contact them. So then I call the MNR, the Police, OPP and the radio station along with the shelters and pound - tackle and hunting stores.. and the two gas stations in the area. still nothing.. so we wait. Well the guy called yesterday so happy we found his dog (his dog is a flusher for deer and there are 2 other ones that were the guy).. and sadly :-( picked the dog up this morning - I have to say that the dog didn't look too impressed when the guy came. I think he enjoyed it here. He wouldn't even get off the couch, the guy had to drag him *L* I think the dog was mad at him. Turns out he had been missing for 2 days when my dad had found him :-) But it is a happy ending. I guess considering we got to have a sweety pie doe in the house for a couple of days. The springer is sad though - the dog was coughing really bad, and every time he'd cough she's see if he was ok. They slept together last night. so she is moping around the house.giving my dad dirty looks cause he was here when the dog left. My dad is going out tomorrow for the last day of Deer season. I told him. you probably won't get a deer. so far you have found more dogs then you have shot deer in your life *LOL* he wasn't impressed - he thinks that maybe he might be rewarded for his good deeds *LOL* (personally, I don't see killing a deer as a reward - but ok) Well that is all. Have a great day!! Mahlyssa [Posted in FML issue 3968]
