Hello Everyone, It has been quite sometime since I posted anything on here. I have been very busy...work and now have a 6 month old baby. Anyway, the reason I am writing is because I need some help. I recently received a letter from my Condo Association that was very upsetting. The letter goes like this: >It has come to my attention that you have ferrets in your unit. Sections >12.5 & 12.6 of the Association Documents are clear on pets and state that >no rodents or livestock are permitted. > >The bottom line is the ferrets will have to go. Please take necessary >steps to be in compliance with The Documents. Needless to say, as we all know, ferrets ARE NOT RODENTS. I have also lived here with my ferrets for 4 years. It also said that an adjacent neighbor complained about roaches because of the ferrets. I myself have not seen any roaches. I have found out that the neighbor is someone I thought to be a friend and we have helped her out on many occasions. My husband has installed a faucet for her, dug up plants, moved furniture, helped her with her cable, and we even park our van in a different spot per her request. I am having my application pulled from when I moved in, but I am not certain if I had mentioned that we have ferrets. I WILL NOT get rid of them, and plan to fight this tooth and nail. What I need is something that would legally state that ferrets are not rodents. I also would like to confront this neighbor but I am unsure how to do it, without going off the handle. That will be the hard part, as I consider my ferrets my children. The one good thing is that I live in Florida where ferrets are legal. So I'm hoping this will help in my battle. Can someone please give me some advice? I need to find time to get all of this together but I'm hoping someone out there has some information that can help me. Thanks for your help.
