It took us about a year and a half to realize Mojo was deaf when we got her. It only took me a few tests to see that Kokie is STONE DEAF. I turn on the vacuum and he just sits there looking at me. Buckie, Rosie, and Noodles FLEE! I jingle keys behind him...not a flinch. I had a hunch he was deaf when I first got him. He has a silver "m" on his forehead (blaze mark) a white tipped tail, and a LIGHT silver streak across his back with white feet, etc. etc. classic wardenburrgs (sp?) syndrome markings. His head is like a bull dog's and his fur is soooo long...reminds me of an angora (but he isn't) He is stubborn as a bull. HATES to go into the cage at night, and throws his food around like he was finger painting his cage. His litter is also a fun play-toy..untill I "soil" it a little bit then he gets the hint. And he just LOVES to play in the tub. I was even getting bath water ready, walked into the bathroom, and watch him DIVE into the tub...(dont worry, i like cold baths) So I bathed him a little bit with water, and put him and all the other kids up. He is a ferret like no other. To be honest...he's the first kit I've had that I could actually call mine. Mojo started out as my brother's, and my first two ferrets were "family pets" But Kokie is the first little "Kit" I technically got. I got buckie when he was 1 (just growing out of the kit stage) and Rosie and Noodles are just dainty little ladies. I'm working on training Kokie, that if he wants to be put down...he has to give some kisses...so far it's worked out really good...he already just loves to give me kisses :) Oh...what was my point??? I got lost rambling....oh yea. that makes two of the 5 ferrets deaf. ;) (they're sweeter anyways) -val ===== ~*~*~ VALERIE ~*~*~ ,',', __ \ `'`,/ \ ()o=; `'`','`/ . \/ / ( / \" / \(_ \(_ ~*`~*`FERRETS RULE~`*~`* [Posted in FML issue 3958]
