Kat Parsons, my dear friend! I don't know what I'd do if I didn't get my annual Kat fix at the Chicago show. I, too, was torn about the situation since I really want to attend the symposium in Atlanta next October, but don't want to miss the GCFA show. I gave Norm a call on the way home from work tonight just to chat about a few things and ask about the show date. He kindly said he didn't have anything to do with setting the date, but that he'd heard the show was moved to the weekend after the symposium. They'd gotten a lot of calls about the conflicting datets. Not that I'd make a difference, but I was ready to bribe them with something..........anything...........to get them to move the show date, but it looks like I don't have to! I have NOT had this confirmed with the people coordinating the show, but it looks fairly promising that the Chicago show will be the weekend after the Atlanta symposium. Now.....I just need to figure out how to fanagle the trip. Money. Time. Lodging. On an interesting note, I got a call from Animal Welfare League to pick up a small weasel-like animal that had been dropped off. I was guessing it was an ermine, least weasel or short-tail weasel. I don't know my weasels. Bob C said it sounded like an ermine or short-tail. Well, it's about 3 whole inches long, has a short tail, is fiestier than anything, and is cute as can be. I believe it's an ermine. It's chocolate brown on top and nougat, I mean, cream colored on the belly. Gorgeous animal! I think it has a broken femur, perhaps from a hawk or cat. We will look into pinning the leg and hope for a successful release once healed. It's gonna be like pinning a hamster's leg, but I have a good ortho vet! If we can't pin it or the leg doesn't heal properly, he has a forever home here, as I have all the proper permits to keep him. All my fuzzies say hello: Big Bear, Casanova, Credence, Baby Bleuy Girl, Macy, Pepper and Twitch............and 2 owner give-ups on the way :-( That's all for now! Hope everyone is doing well!
