A little backgound -- In a recent project by CARE (Carrier Animal Rescue Effort), local letter carriers from the Albuquerque, NM area collected supplies for all types of 'needy animals'. Numerous shelters/rescues across the state received the donated items. This past weekend, the shelter kids from Ferrets First Rescue & Shelter of New Mexico, received some cages, carriers, food, paper towels, litter & pans, bedding, crocks, water bottles, & toys. The reason for this post -- Tucked inside one of the cages, was a hand written note that said - "These items were used lovingly to care for our 2 angel ferrets, Charlotte & Kitka. We hope they can now be used by other ferrets in need." Charlotte & Kitka's family, if you read the FML (or if anyone recognizes these ferret's names, please let the family know) - the cage & items you donated made it's way to the shelter kids in Carlsbad. So, on behalf of all of them, we're sending you a heartfelt "thank you" & a great big fuzzy hug! An added "thank you" to the postal workers, volunteers, and generous people who donated to the Carrier Animal Rescue Effort.
