Hi Cheryl ~ I am so sorry to hear a bout Jack. Being an herbalist and growing my own medicinal herbs helps to save a lot of money. There is an herb to help bones reknit together plus to help with the pain. It is called "Boneset." It was used by the American Indians and grows by the wayside here on the east coast. You can go to a health food store and either get it as a dried tea and make a poultice with it (see below); or get it as a tincture and place a few drops on the break three times a day. To make a poultice take a small square of muslin. Add some of the dried tea to the center and wet with hot water. Let steep for about 7 minutes. Then roll it in half and place on the break. If you can keep him still for a few minutes -great, hold it on his break. If not try to get it against the break while he is sleeping. If that doesn't work just put a few drops (10 or so) of the tincture in his bathwater and let him walk around in it. Then don't rub it off. It won't hurt for him to lick at it either. Boneset is a wonderful yet safe herb for pets. Warmly ~ Mary Herbalist The Conley Farm - organic herbs Online Classes ~ [log in to unmask] [Posted in FML issue 3870]
