Hello everyone! I have been lurking, and reading the FML for some time now, and I thought I would introduce myself and my shelter. My name is Sherri and I am the director of a small, not-for-profit, no kill ferret shelter called the Cozy Hammie ferret shelter in the Harrisburg, Pa. area. The shelter has been open for just over 2 years now, but due to some major health issues on my part, I was unable to pursue the shelter on a full time basis. This year has brought about several changes, not only in my health, but also to the shelter. With my improved health, I have been able to make many more contacts, and therefor our adoptions have gone up! To date, (this year) I have had more adoptions then surrenders!! Due to all of the shelter closings in PA and the surrounding states in the past year, and the over crowding of the shelters still open, I thought I would try and pass my good luck along to others. What I am trying to offer here is help. If any shelters with in 5 hours or so of Harrisburg would like some assistance in placing ferrets, or are over crowded and would like some extra space for there constant surrenders, please feel free to drop me an e-mail at [log in to unmask] I only have limited space to offer, maybe 5 single ferrets or up to 10 or so in pairs, but I guess the way I look at things is "every little bit helps" Dooks to all!!
