The two newest residents have arrived. A pair of ferrets seized in NH on cruelty / abandonment charges. The female, an albino is approx. 2-3 years the male a chocolate approx. 1 year old. NO visable tattoos. They will be ADV tested on MOnday AM. Preious to their arrival on Sat. afternoon at Ferret Wise, they have been confined in a small vari kennel and given food for the past 7 days in a local holding / kennel facility( after being left in an abandoned residence for 3 or more days) - unclaimed by the owner who abandoned them, they are now declared abandoned by NH state law and charges will be filed. Both ferrets were seized by police in Warner, NH. Officer John Brooks stated," The cage was filled with excrement, when I picked them up they were thin, I could feel every bone." These ferrets are wards of the Warner, NH police dept., but enjoying rehab and care at Ferret Wise. While criminal charges are being filed. Upon judges orders in the future they will be available for adoption, meanwhile to help the shelter folks with their upkeep and care - A Name the NAMELESS ferrets fund-raiser. Interested persons are asked to put the suggested names for these two ferrets on a paper- and send a $5.00 Donation to: Ferret Wise- Cruelty campaign, PO Box 561, Marlborough, NH 03455-0561 *Each entrant will also receive a complimentary chance on the Ferret Cameo Pendant raffle which will be drawn on Aug.25th On August 25th a slip will be drawn from the nameless entrants and the winners name choices for the ferrets will be assigned to the shelter cage card.
