Hello I posted here 7/12/02 about how I had not received a gate or any response from Caroyln Kinsey regarding my $70.00 check which cleared on June 7, 2002. After that note appeared on the Ferret Mailing List I did get an email from Carolyn Kinsey. She claims that her shipping facility was destroyed by the Hayman fire. She also claimed that orders were being filled and that if I did not want to wait another 6 weeks, that she would still need the extra ten dollars I had paid for "quik ship" (which should have gotten the gate to me no later than June 21st). Since my need for the ferret gate has long since been taken care of - I requested a refund of my money. I requested this on July 12 in writing in response to her email to me and in a voice mail to her. It is now July 21. I have not heard back from Carolyn Kinsey nor have I received the product (which I no longer want) or my refund. It is business people like Carolyn Kinsey who ruin the market for all small business people. Since Carolyn Kinsey does not accept credit cards - I was forced to send her a check which she has cashed and now I have little to no recourse in getting my money back. Unfortunately when there are people like Carolyn Kinsey operating in this manner - it taints all small businesses. In the future - I probably will not buy anything from a business that will not accept credit cards. I realize this places a burden on folks who are running businesses on the side to raise money for their local shelters. My problem is: I did not send her a shelter donation. I sent her money in exchange for goods which I have never received. My sentiments are unchanged. I want to warn as many ferret owners as I can about the unscrupulous business practices of Carolyn Kinsey and urge you not to send money to this "business".
