The Delaware County SPCA in Media (near Rt. 1 and 252) called me this week and I visited their latest ferrets today. I also took them a pile of ferret info brochures with my name and number on them, hoping that people who impulse adopt will give me a call if they need help. I cannot adopt these ferrets, but hopefully someone out there can. Both are sweethearts and they are a pair. Sarah is a 6yo chocolate who had adrenal surgery in March and has not yet grown back her hair around the base of her tail, but the rest of her body still has plenty so I'm sure she will grow a coat in the fall. Mallory is a 5yo sable with a lot of silver on the sable. He has an enlarged spleen, but my vet says that is common in older ferrets and not a cause for alarm. They both are bright-eyed, friendly, curious, playful and gentle. Litterbox trained as long as you clean the box once day. Used to walking on leashes. If you have not had the joy of adopting older ferrets to give them a loving last couple of years, you are missing something good for yourself, not to mention for the old guys.
