In checking around a couple of government agencies, it appears that ferrets are grouped with "other" small "rodent" pets and are not subject to extensive restrictions on importation as pets. You should probably obtain a current (within 10 days of border crossing) health certificate, even though CDC (Center of Disease control that regulates animal importation) does NOT require one for ferrets specifically. Some U.S. states do require health certificates for traveling ferrets. A couple of web sites: http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/dq/animal.htm http://www.customs.gov/travel/travel.htmv "...Rabbits, Guinea pigs, hamsters, ferrets, and other pet rodents There are no CDC or USFWS restrictions or requirements on these animals if brought in as pets. ..."
