>When one of our fuzzies needs to be put down, the vet already knows that >we want them put to sleep first and we are there to see that it happens >that way. Mind you, we watch not because we distrust our vet, she is a >really good vet, we are there so the fuzzy dies with his/her family and >not on their own, with strangers. I couldn't agree more. We just put our Skeeter to sleep after a long battle with adrenal tumors and cancer. The vet initially didn't want us in the room because he was afraid that he wouldn't hit a vein the first time. He was very up front about this but I insisted that Skeeter would not die alone and he was fine with that. I appreciate the fact that he was so honest with us about it. So with Mike and I holding and petting him, the vet administered the shot and he was gone. It was quick, painless (well not for us) and we knew he was headed to a much better place. We wanted to be there for him and we had complete trust in our vet. Chris [Posted in FML issue 3825]
