With all the posts on adrenal disease lately I find myself a little worried so I pulled out some of Merlin's (3 yo MF) medical records. Some of you may remember that I posted about him and trying to find a vet last year on Super Bowl Sunday with NO luck. The first vet that responded to me was Dr Williams on this list. I initially took him in because his tail went almost completely bald. I tried the Strydex with no luck. The first thing I had done was a Tenn panel. The results were... Estradiol nmol/L 192 17 OH Progesterone nmol/L 0.42 Androstenedione nmol/L 10.8 This was done Oct 11 01 Next, he had an ultra sound (Oct 17, 01 )done that showed the glands to be enlarged by 7 to mm. Because he had been through some difficult health problems ( bright red bloody stools ) the advice was to do nothing at this time. In the meantime he grew back a rich thick coat of fur. He feels more like a rabbit than a ferret. He seems the picture of health. Even the bleeding seems to have passed as it hasn't happened for quite some time. Is there anything I should be doing or watching for? This is my first experience with this disease. For the most part, other than a horrible bout with ECE, my four have been very healthy. Thanks so much for any advice anyone can give. Diddy PS Just a quick note on a new toy. This past weekend I bought a spiral garden hose. When I unpacked it I threw it on the floor to remind me to put it in the shed. Well, my guys found it and they had a blast with it. They used it just like their tube. One of them insisted on trying to drag it away while the others were playing inside of it. They seemed quite put out that it came apart on them. They looked very baffled. It's now safely in the shed because it's soft plastic and I didn't trust them not to eat it (or put teeth holes in it). [Posted in FML issue 3805]
