I have just joined the FML recently and find it quite helpful. I have three ferrets, Loki(boy), Sklya(girl) and Charlie(boy). Aside from Skyla's never-ending energy and biting habit to use up that energy, I haven't had hardly any problems with my babies. My only concern with them right now is my Charlie. A couple of months ago I noticed that he was losing hair on his tail and there was a lump on the end. I took him to the vet and she said that the lump didn't seem to be bothering him and that I should just keep an eye on it because it would really hurt him to have it removed. She said that because he was only losing hair on his tail that she did not suspect Adrenal with him yet. I went online and tried to find out as much as I could about the lump on his tail and the best that I can tell is that it is a Chrodoma. It is just a big bump on the end. Charlie never seems to even notice that it is there so I just check it every day and so far there have been no changes. A couple of weeks ago while inspecting his tail I noticed that he has what looks like blackheads all over it and I am thinking that this has contributed to the hair loss. He is still only bald in spots on his tail and aside from his usual sleepy self seems to be healthy. Has anyone ever experienced this? Is my vet right in not having us do anything for his tail. I was thinking that if it is somehow blackheads that I should maybe be cleaning his tail daily with an acne wash or something for humans but I don't know if that is safe either. Any advice would be helpful. Angel [Posted in FML issue 3778]
