Hello Humans In regards to yesterdays email on the question mark on my head. You see when Da Ma Ma and I do education in schools she tells the children, " Callie taught me all about ferrets, so see the question mark on her head, well ask Callie the question and she taught me the answeres to your questions. Now! What goes on in a deaf ferrets head? If you can catch a deaf ferret sleeping you will see most of us sleep with our heads hanging out of our sacks or belly up in hammies with out head hanging upside down on the floor of our cage. When I was younger I was the first ferret up when Da Ma Ma came into the room. I sure would suprise her by being at the pantry door before she came to let us all out. She had to sneak up on me lots of times before she caught me sleeping with my head hanging upside down on the floor cause I always beat her to the door. HEHE I guess since I am a teacher I have to share some of my secrets. You see God made ferrets tunneling creatures and he gave us sensors in our skull to pick up vibrations under ground. We had a ferret in the rescue that was a wimp. He got along with everyone, but would go running to Da Ma Ma if anyone got fresh with him. Oh My could he screen at the other ferrets. Now Da Ma Ma said I would never hurt a flea but this boy sure was fun. Now I never did hurt him but when she went into the other room I would lay on him and oh boy did he vibrate. I loved to feel him. Da Ma Ma would hear the big sound he made and come and make me get off him. I would spin across the floor and dance with joy. He was talking to me. I guess he did not understand what I was doing. Gee I just layed on him, a girl has to communicate. I spin in the tube more than the other ferrets cause I can't hear what is going on so I feel the vibration from the tube on the floor. I realy love upside down best as I can feel when other ferrets come in the tube and want to play. My tail is short so other ferrets do not get much vibration from it but I sure can feel another ferret asking me to come and play. Da Ma Ma calls them Happy Tales cause they tell her a story. This sensor gift sure is worth a happy dance. When Da Ma Ma asks me to play with the spin- twirl sign I lay on my back and splay. For new ferret owners splaying is when I lay on my back with my front paws on my chest and my back ones spread out, and the back of my head is on the floor. You see we are most vunerable when we do this and it is a gift of complete trust to our humans. Da Ma Ma will place a fabric ball with a shaker in it and I twirl it on my belly. I can feel it sing to me. If I twirl it to fast it flys across the floor and Da Ma Ma laughs and gives it back to me. The part I like best about what I feel is when Da Ma Ma gets down on the floor when I splay and gently rubs my neck to my tummy. She gently swirls her finger on my tummy and says I love you. I may not hear her say " I love you." but I sure do feel her loves me. Good by Love Callie Tomorrow lesson3 My toys and things of joy! [Posted in FML issue 3798]
