HI Readers-- There seems to be some misunderstandings on the "Ferretstock " event with regard to communication received here at Ferret Wise. The event being hosted soon is one which is being run for Rocky's Ferret Rescue in MD- - this IS IN NO WAY connected to the annual Ferretstock events in NH hosted by Ferret Wise Shelter! But I am sure there will be fun to be had-- Ferretstock III - A Celebration is progressing for the NH event Sept 7th. We have many desserts already promised for the auction which will benefit ADV testing / research. A prize for the creator of the confection which brings the highest bid! George Messenger, DVM will be host auctioneer for this event. "Blessing of the ferrets/ animals" is scheduled at 12 noon under the pavilion - games will commence at conclusion. Rabies vaccinations will be available on site from 1-2 PM for those ferrets who need boosters. We are awaiting the new tee shirt designs on great colored shirts for advance orders... and will post them on the website and issue notice when they arrive! The day is proving to be a unique one and one worth attending. We are awaiting response from a former Woodstock artist ( musician) who has been invited to serve as honorarium of the day! We will also offer CD's filled with the wonderful music of the day for folks to take home- proceeds will benefit the shelter fund. CHANGES - There will be no walk event this year. INSTEAD the challenge will be for folks to sign up and get pledges for the shelter with their ferret's ( ferrets) photograph (3x5, 4x6, 5x7 formats only). DO you have an adorable ferret or few that would be willing to raise money to help shelter kids? This will allow ferrets who are unable to attend still participate and compete for a grand prize as top fundraiser - a one of a kind plaque and a parcel of ferret goodies! Additionally there will be a cutest ferret photo contest with great prizes for the winner! ( mail in entires allowed) and winners will be determined by money placed in containers for designated photos- proceeds to benefit the vaccination / ADV testing funds at Ferret Wise. We have food vendors returning from last year ,Team Frank Racing - a cycling team will provide various refreshments for vegetarian and non vegetarian menus. ALL proceeds from food vendors support a local NH charity ( non shelter). We are accepting donations of new items / gift certificates - for raffle items for this event (Woodstock memorabilia in good condition a plus!) - and setting up the days fun events. ALL ATTENDING FERRETS will be required to be in cages / carriers equipped with litter box , food & water NO COMMUNITY LITTERBOXES - FOOD BOWLS - WATER BOWLS will be allowed.
