Sorry for Cross Posting! Hi All, I'm the newbie looking for 2 ferrets with my ad in the paper. Sorry if I tend to go on....In an earlier post I told you about the guy who lives out of town who saw my ad and he called me and told me he had 2 ferrets (1 year old each) to sell for $350, with second set of needles (cost $70 each). I only saw the pics through email (Gizmo & Ace look healthy) and cage is wooden framed, nice size (4.5'x2.5'x3'). He has included all his accessories ( food dish, litter box, 2 hammocks, several toys, some food, some litter, 1 harness, 1 collar, 1 leash, Ferretone, some treats, shampoo, ear cleaner, claw trimmers, several feet of pipe). So I told him I would buy them but I did tell him cause I still have an ad in the paper and no final deal is made for sure yet I will continue to look locally. His father plans to come to town sometime in the next few weeks and drop the ferrets off to me, so its just a matter of when are they coming to town. I also asked the owner to provide me with the papers they got when they purchased the ferrets from the petstore and papers to show vaccination from their vet. You see I haven't seen in person his 2 ferrets and I wonder what they are like around others. He says they nip but not bite. Do all ferrets nip? I'm concerned that I could possibly get biters and he could be telling me differently and then I may have a task on my hands to retrain them not to bite. I'd prefer they didn't even nip. I have a 4 year old and I don't want him to get bit, even nipping concerns me (depends on what one means by nipping). I will always supervise the ferrets. I wonder should I get one kit and then I know I will have trained him/her from day one not to nip/bite. Anyway I am going to send another email cause I have a story to tell about a lady locally who is selling 2 ferrets for $150 and at first I thought what a great deal but when I saw the ferrets I now have LOTS of concerns about buying ferrets without seeing them first. Look for part 2 email to follow. Broomie [Posted in FML issue 3752]
