I hope many of you remember my posts a few weeks back about finding out Otis has Insulinoma on top on an inoperable adrenal tumor. Well, I got him put on pred and I have been hand feeding him twice a day. He loves the food I blend his ferret food with a jar of chicken baby food, a little nutrical and water and I syringe feed it to him. Does anyone know how many CC's I should give him at each feeding? I am giving him about 30-36 right now. My qusetion though is this: He is still having hind leg weakness and he just appears tired all the time. Is this normal with him being on the pred? I thought when he got on that he would stop doing that? I had spoke with a lady at ferret first and she gave me her phone number but I cant find it. If you are reading please email me with it. I have some questions I would like to ask. Also, for Dr. williams what kills insulinomic ferrets? Is it just when the blood sugar levels get to low? Will nothing eventually help and he will just slip into a coma? For everyone who sent me emails about Otis lately I really appreciate it. It is nice to know that people who dont even know him care about him!!! Thanks so much for all the advice. Please pray for Otis that he atleast leaves this world without pain. He has had such a hard trip in life. Lisa [Posted in FML issue 3751]
