Time to ask the question I knew I'd never want to... Where's the best place to get a "memory box" for Nikita's ashes? We don't own our home, and I couldn't bear the thought of burying her and then having to leave her grave behind someday. Our vet deals with a very reputable place that does individual animal cremations, so we decided to keep her ashes at least until we have a place to put them that we will never leave. Plus, we live on the shores of a lake, and residents on the lakefront are "discouraged" from buring animals in their backyards which are basically also the lakeshores. Understandable, given the erosion the lake dishes out every year! I'd like to know where a good place is to get a box for her, and any advice people might have. I've looked at some websites; the boxes are pricey but that's OK, I don't mind spending a little extra for her to have a nice box. Before I go ahead and order one though, I'm wondering if there are "good" and "not so good" places, or perhaps there's someone on the list that makes these? I'm looking for one with a photo holder and a place for a little plaque. Thanks! -Heather W. in Massachusetts Saying Goodbye to Nikita ps - thanks to everyone who has sent emails, e-cards, and comforting messages. There are so many that I cannot even answer them all. But thank you. Alexandra, your haiku you sent is going on Nikki's memory box plaque. I cried so hard when I read it, but it was perfect. Thank you! [Posted in FML issue 3749]
