I just wanted to say that the past couple of months have been a nightmare for several shelters and several private ferret owners. But I consider the recent events this year a great gift. A God send. We were given a peek into the possible future. We were shown what it might look like at the onset of a possible major epidemic of ADV in this world. But it was not to be, so we have this second chance. A second chance to look for a vaccine, a second chance to get even better tests than what we have available, a second chance to do all we can to prevent this disease from becoming a massive plaque. This is our chance to take all precaution possible which includes testing and identifying positives. This is our chance to hold this disease at bay for as long as possible so that medicine can catch up to our needs here. I just would have thought that shelters shutting down, people in financial straights from vets bills and testing, and the shed tears.... would be enough. I thought it would be enough of a slap of reality for people. You can't get anymore real than what we've experienced.
