I have been asked by Judith White of SOS to post this notice on FML due to computer problems she is having momentarily. As of today's date Wayward Weasels in Harpswell, ME reports they are no longer able to accept ferret intakes. This is due in part to the discovery via testing on a sick paralized ferret of ADV positive antibodies. I have passed along contacts for this shelter so a populous testing can begin. HOWEVER there are currently some testing conflicts such As Kristeen Lunny has had in Bend Oregon. Therefore several test will be required to be run on the remaining 36 ferrets in order to determine the exposure and progression of ADV at that location. SOS will be assisting Nicole at Wayward Weasels in the testing process. Those who care to donate to the project can donate to: SOS- Wayward weasels * * * Support Our Shelters * * * http://www.SupportOurShelters.org Helping the Shelters of the Ferret Mailing List Ask me how you can help a shelter near you: Judith White <[log in to unmask]> Tax-Deductible Donations accepted through PayPal: <[log in to unmask]> To email Nicole directly in regard to donations ( not tax deductible unless through SOS) email: [log in to unmask] Please consider testing your ferrets for ADV exposure - This is a prime example that ADV IS in NEW ENGLAND! If anyone tells you different they are not being a ferrets friend! If you think you don't have ADV then you have not tested!
