Well I've been meaning to write this post a while agao. When I saw the post from Zen stating that MF was at least by people who care about ferrets, or something like that. I took that personal, like the people at Ferets magazine don't care about ferrets. Well just in case anyone is wondering, they do. I received a call from the managing editor, Marylou Zarbock befor the Feb. symposium. she wanted to know about some of the ferrrets that were perminate residents. i told her some stories about some of the ferrets, Slim, Repeat, Robin, Dusty, Pablo and others. i heard from her again before the symposium, she wanted to visit the ferrets while she attended the symposium. Marylou visited and saw the ferrets. The purpose of the visit was to pick two ferrets to sponser. Since Ferrets mag is in Cali, they can not own ferrets, so they decided to sponser 2 shelter ferrets. They did not have to do this but they felt it would be a way to "own a ferret" and help out a few shelters ferrets also. So I'm proud to say the Ferrets mag has sponsered Slim Shady, our paralized ferret, he was stepped on by previous owner, and Repeat, who was almost strangled to death by a local animal shelter. The sponsership will help with medical bills and daily care of these two wonderful ferrets. In the next issue of Ferrets mag, in the editors note there will be a piece on the ferrets and their pics, and more on sponsering a shelter ferret. This act of kindness showed me that Marylou and the folks at Ferrets, not only put out a Ferret mag, but truly care about ferrets. I have met Marylou and spent some time with her at the Ferret Symposium in Las Vegas, she really likes ferrets and is concerned with ferret issues, shelters, and health care. Marylou is also a part of the FML. she keeps in touch with the ferret community, listens and takes that with her to edit a wonderful ferret mag. I would like to say thank you to Marylou and all the great folks at Ferret mag for caring about ferrets, putting out a wonderful magazine for all to enjoy. Keep up the wonderful work. As far as MF mag is concerned, I to have a subscription, if I ever see another issue who knows, I have bigger things to worry about, like running a ferret shelter. I wish Mary and Eric the best, no hard feelings. Anyway, thats my story and I'm sticking to it, lol. Lighten up, life is to short, go hug a fuzzie, things will look better! Take care, CJ 24 Carat Ferret Rescue And Shelter Las Vegas, Nv. "where ferrets are treated like gold" [Posted in FML issue 3736]
