>From: Norm Goings <[log in to unmask]> > >Here's my thing: I want a ferret tattoo. I'd like to have either a >tribal, celtic or possibly skeletal ferret design as a centerpiece to >an arm band. I have a celtic ferret tattoo on the ball of my right shoulder--I don't have any photos, and since it's a very particular memorial I wouldn't share it as is anyway :) but I can tell you what I did to create it. Look for books of Celtic clip art (Dover publishes many good ones, all copyright-free, available at most bookstores or art supply stores), and check out the different animal designs for something that could be modified into a ferret. I used an otter design. I reshaped the otter's head and ears, took a fish out of its front paws, gave it ferret markings and added a knot at the end of its tail to fill the space left by the fish. Voila, a ferret! You could also look at some of the stretched out dog designs-- by changing their heads and shortening their legs, you could create a ferret. Don't know where you're at, but if you're in New England I can pass along my artist's name. I remember seeing in Modern Ferret several issues back a feature on a special effects artist with a ferret skeleton tattooed on his forearem. I don't remember what issue, but maybe their website would help. It was a really nice tattoo. As far as paw prints go, there's always the very messy but fun "line the bathroom with paper and let the ferrets walk though paint before their next bath" method ;) Regina Regina Harrison [log in to unmask] or [log in to unmask] http://www.channel1.com/users/regina/ blog: http://www.channel1.com/users/regina/zblog.html Is that my business? Well, what is my business? Do I know? Did I ever know? Let s not go into that. You re not human tonight, Marlowe. Maybe I never was or ever will be... Maybe we all get like this in the cold half-lit world where always the wrong thing happens and never the right. --Raymond Chandler, The Little Sister [Posted in FML issue 3735]
