>Taz, Squirt and I are new here, and I come seeking advice from the start. >(Please be patient, I am still learning). I was playing with Taz and had >her on her back (which she doesn't care for). I noticed what I would call >a blood blister on a human. On her belly, she has a dark red/purple bump >that is about the size of pin head. The area around it is also inflammed. >She did not appear bothered by me touching it. It is not inline with her >nipples, so I doubt my mom's suggestion of an inflammed nipple. Do I need >to be making a vet call? If it is the size of a pinhead - it is likely a small cyst of a scent gland, and as such very well may not need removal. However, if it continues to grow, then there is a definite possibility of a skin tumor and routine surgery (with general anesthesia) will be needed to remove it. At this point - we can easily watch it for a little while. With kindest regards, Bruce Williams, DVM [Posted in FML issue 3685]
