I'm posting this anonymously because I'm still talking to the person in question from the FML about adopting their ferrets. This person posted about needing to find someone to adopt their ferrets because of a life change (that they chose, not like a forced job move). I'm not a shelter, nor do I represent one. I have taken in, from other people, not purchased from breeders 8 ferrets, 3 cats and 1 dog in the past 12 years, cared for them, paid for them, etc.. with no help from the previous owners. Is it wrong of me to ask of this new person for some money for these older ferret's bills? Maybe I'm just angry right now because I see having pets as a lifetime committment and even some people on the FML do not. Of course, I should be happy this person is trying to find someone to adopt them, instead of anything worse. But to me, there is no choice once that committment has been made. thoughts?
