Good Morning Amy, Kudos to you my dear on your rescue of the little girl. Does she have a name yet? Funny how people deem these little "bandits" biters, etc. I have come across so many people and through them meeting our kids they sure have changed their attitudes abour ferrets. I have found that some people just don't care for their antics but will hold and ooo and ahhh over ours. One girl said ewwweee I don't like how they crawl all on me. Well that is the best part :-). So many people that have heard that we have a deaf ferret who was a major biter say things like....ahh it is good you got him, someone else might have got him and had him put to sleep or ahhh what would have happened to him, maybe abuse. I can't believe that anyone would even think of having a deaf ferret put to sleep. I even had one person ask me if I was going to return him to the pet store and get my money back. I said first of all they don't do that and second of all would you give your child back if they were deaf or give them up for adoption? The person just walked away from me. Our little Ariel may not be able to hear but he is so much fun and with the help of his sister and brothers he has adapted as well as any other ferret. He doesn't bite anymore and in fact he was only here a week when he stopped it. He was only about 6 weeks old when he came home to us and really laid into my finger the first night in the store but we knew he was supposed to come to us. Every once in awhile he gets a little nuts with his brothers when he is playing like last night and grasped hold of my husband's wrist through is shirt and would not let go. We just held him up so he could see our face and explained to him no and he stopped. It is sad that people get these animals and are so misinformed about them. Thanks again for taking the time to get this little girl out of her environment and save her life. Kudos to you Love & angel hugs Debbie [Posted in FML issue 3662]
