Iso is the gas that is used most commonly here in the US too, but Propofol
can also be used.  It is a safe option that only last for a short time
10-15 minutes, so yes they will recover quickly from propofol also.

Yes, Sevo (sevoflurane) is the newer and slightly better gas for
anesthesia.  It has some advantages and is slightly safer than Iso
(isoflurane), but it costs about 8 times as much as Iso.  Another new
gas is Deso (desoflurane) which is slightly better than Sevo, but it is
currently too expensive for use in veterinary medicine.

PS if neither Iso or Sevo is available then Propofol is an OK option.
