>First things first: Beware of the "Petno" list posted about yesterday. >It seems the vast majority of information on this site comes from PETA. Actually the majority of the information on their site, comes comes from bird rescuers and rabbit rescuers. There is a link to a peta site, but that's about it. These rescue groups have tons of first hand information about the lack of care that petco gives to birds, rabbits (and small rodents). These two groups have been fighting petco independently, but have now banded together, hoping to make some changes for the positive. Some of the reptile groups are also considering join forces, as petco is also mistreating the reptiles they try to sell. If there are any ferret rescuers who wish to join the bird and rabbit rescuers, please feel free. At this point there are 99% animal welfare people on board and perhaps 1% (if that) animal rights people (as there probably are on the FML too). We're aware, from posting on this topic on the FML in the past, that most ferret rescue groups support petco, because petco supports them, so we're not expecting a lot of support from the ferret community, but please don't be mislead by a statement that this is a peta organization. Nothing could be further from the truth.
