Just as a reminder - Fraud is construed from holding a raffle- contest -- drawing selecting a winning ticket and deciding NOT to give it to the legitimate winner- for WHATEVER REASON> I do not think any non profit would want to be in the position of being called on in a fraudulent situation.. so if folks do not understand the ethics of a gambling game they should not play. If you feel you don't want to buy a ticket for heavens sake don't BUT do not ask folks to cheat because you don't like the way the game is played! The whole point of raffles for non profits is to support the cause. I think these fund raisers for shelters & rescues are a great way to show support-- though sometimes I do just send a donation along! Alicia who most often does not win- and it is okay! :) [Posted in FML issue 3653]
