You really need to be careful when housing you ferrets outside.  *A
shady place with a breeze* is just not cool enough during our Australian
summers, and I bet we've got some scorchers coming up.  Draping their
living quarters with wet blankets or bags will only work if there is
someone home during the hottest part of the day to keep them wet.  Frozen
bottles of water is effective if tucked into their bedding.  However it is
much safer to keep your ferrets indoors in a cool place during our heat
waves.
