I read about the family outing excersion, and the aunt that ran away screaming. I know that hurts so much....and for it to happen with family its just a knife that gives that extra twist in your gut. I dont' expect everyone to like ferrets. I just expect people to be considerate of my feelings, and respectful of my feelings towards ferrets. If someone owned, say a cockroach, I wouldn't run up to that person and say "how sick and gross". I view it like this, If someone wore a dress that was ugly to you... would you walk up and rudely make them feel bad by criticizing it?? So what makes this different? Anyway, Sean's new school and I finally got our schedules together to bring in our ferrets. While I was there this week introducing his special ed class to the ferrets so we could later do educational and therapeutic visits there, I had such a rude experience also. A teacher next door, frowned and said "they stink" and some other comments. She went out of her way to come out of her room, and do this. It really hurt Scotts feelings. These animals are his sweetie pies. I took offense because by gosh *I'm* doing THEM a favor. I am volunteering my time to come in for these kids to help them. I thought even if she hated them she should have kept her darn mouth shut. Unless SHE wants to give those children her free time, and find a way to make them feel so wonderful. Then be my guest.
