Last night I found Charlie dead in his sleep. I'm shocked and numb because he wasn't sick, that I could see, wasn't hurt, hadn't lost weight or hair. My Dh asked if he could have gotten our colds, but he would have been congested or something wouldn't he? I'm worried that maybe the humidity was still to high in the basement(partially exposed).I have a dehumidifier on down there. Or, maybe he ate something in the play room, did his sisters step on him in his sleep and hurt him? I guess most likely he had an undiscovered heart problem and that's why he was so peacefully on his back asleep. He was only about 3 1/2 years old. My biggest boy. When I got him 2 years ago he had never been outside and he was as big around as he was long. He slimmed down but he was still a big boy! He was my wresler(sp). The worst thing is I hadn't played with the ferrets in three days! I feed and watered them and gave them treats but because I'm so sick I didn't dare touch them. I didn't even clean the litter boxes until last night. I had my son go down with me so he could take the the ferrets out while I cleaned and he found Charlie. So nobody thinks the guys don't get exercise- I have four cages connected with different levels and a tube. They have a favorite litter box but will use the others when it is dirty, they have a seperate potty cage. So, Charlie goes to meet Roulette(his best buddy) and Syber at the rainbow bridge. Sandee, Charlie doesn't like squeeky toys but loves all treats. I'll bet he will love cuddling up with Rou agin. Say a prayer for Spaz-she has seemed a little slow lately. She and Nikita are due for shots this week as soon as it's safe for me to touch them. It seems like this week is busy at the bridge with Scooter,Cosmo and Snippet joining Charlie.- I'm sorry you other mommies and daddies have to go through this also. Angela... and then there were two. Spaz(I can't be top ferret with only Nikita) Nikita(Where's my sleeping buddies? It's cold without them) Charlie,Roulette and Syber-do you know mommy's about to have a nervous breakdown with out you?
